The Problem Of Over-Regulation

Mike Kelly got a standing ovation on the House floor for saying what he said here.  That generally isn’t supposed to happen, but what he said was so correct that it did.  Take a peek:

People who complain about big corporations running everything and demand that we regulate and tax them even more to keep them under control need to think about this.  The fact is that regulations don’t bother big corporations as much as they bother small businesses, which are the potential competitors for those supposedly evil corporations.  If setting up a Little League field is this hard, how is setting up a business supposed to work?

Making it harder to compete?  That’s good for big corporations.  It’s also good for big government, because if the power in a certain sector is consolidated, it’s easier to control.
